Teaching from the Inside Out: Nervous System Practices that Support Learning
Description
Neuroscience tells us that when we feel safe and connected, we learn better. But in today’s classrooms – especially in the wake of collective stress – those conditions can be hard to create and even harder to sustain.
This hands-on workshop introduces practical nervous system-informed strategies that help educators maintain the kind of learning environments where students can focus, participate, and grow. You’ll learn about what neuroscience tells us of human behavior (including your own), and walk away with easy-to-use techniques that support classroom calm, strengthen relationships, and reduce escalation.
Along the way, you’ll hear examples from North Carolina schools that are integrating resilience-informed practices in their classrooms. We’ll cover real tools that help you do what you’re already trying to do – more effectively, with less cost to your own nervous system.
Who Should Attend:
Pre-service and in-service educators, student support staff, and education leaders who want to improve learning outcomes by building emotionally attuned schools that work for everyone.
